Week 1: The caregiver learns about the steps in the stress management process.
Week 2: The caregiver becomes more aware of his or her situation as a caregiver and various aspects of this situation.
Week 3: The caregiver analyzes the situation and chooses a specific challenge for which he or she would like to effect change. The caregiver is also asked to set a goal for the desired change.
Week 4: The caregiver clarifies the selected challenge and learns appropriate strategies for coping with it.
Week 5: The caregiver comes to see the importance of choosing a strategy that is appropriate to the situation. He or she chooses a strategy and gives it a try.
Week 6: The caregiver evaluates whether the goal set initially has been achieved.
Week 7: The caregiver is encouraged to take stock of what he or she has learned about the stress management process
